Music Video List with descriptions
Here is the complete list, to this date, of all the music videos. I put together each one in the order they were released. Each one has a photo shot on the left, and a description of it on the right.
Superman's Song Superman's Song 1991

Ellen Reid dreamed up the concept of this one. The setting, is at the Man Of Steel's funeral. Superman's enemies and foes attend the service, standing at their seats in great grief of the big guy. Brad stands front and center of the church singing the song. Then the time comes when Benjamin Darvill, Dan Roberts, and some villains all take part on lifting Supe's casket out. At the very end of the video, Brad is seen in a phone booth, with Superman's costume on the ground at his feet.

The band play on the second floor at this old style diner. Brad Roberts, Ellen Reid, Ben Darvill, Dan Roberts, and Mitch Dorge all play up there in the corner. As they do, there are two puppeteers controlling two skeleton puppets. They act out the parts of the story as the band plays and sing.

Androgynous Androgynous 1991

This video is set in a festival on a nice warm day. The video plot matches the songs lyrics almost all the way. Dick enters wearing a shirt and leather jacket, and Jane enters wearing a chain, etc. The band remain on stage, with Brad, Ben and Ellen dressed in leather jackets. Mitch is on drums with long hair and Dan pays bass on the side. Throughout the video, there are examples of people, who can be compared to the term Androgynous.

The First Noel The First Noel 1991

This video takes place at Christmas time. Dan, Ben, and Mitch begin to fight over the presents under the tree. Brad then walks with a mug of coffee and says, "Hey you little dummies! - that's not what Christmas is all about!" Then Ben says, "Gee what is all about then Brad?" Brad says "Well, I'll tell ya".
The song then starts with Ellen playing the piano and Brad singing, while showing the other dummies listening quietly.

The video, as in the song, is about 3 children who are trying to fit into society. All three acts are performed by young actors, while the band play in the corner near the stage. First the boy drives across in his car and has an accident. Then there's the girl covered with birthmarks, and finally the kid who has to go to church. This has to be the most played dummies video.

Afternoons & Coffeespoons Afternoons & Coffeespoons 1993

This is one of my favorite videos. Brad arrives in an ambulance which was driven by Dan. They put Brad on a stretcher and push him into the hospital, going down the hospital hallways. The band performs the operation on Brad, and he wakes up all better. They then push him outside in the sun in his wheelchair. They start singing on the helicopter landing pad outside the hospital where doctors, nurses, and patients dance around.

Swimming In Your Ocean Swimming In Your Ocean 1993-1994

This is a very funny/cheesy video. Brad comes on to a stage singing, where there is an audience of old ladies. Brad winks, and points out a few while singing, and they clap and stare at him. The rest of the band are quietly and slowing playing. Dan makes a sharp wink at an old lady, and Ben slowly picks away at the mandolin.

God Shuffled His Feet God Shuffled His Feet 1994

People enter a little store on the side of the street to see God and ask him questions -like do you need to get your hair cut in heaven?, etc... They are each given little cards to write their questions, and slip them in a box on the stage where a nicely crafted puppet of God shakes his arms and moves about. At the end, a boy there finds out that the puppet was controlled by an old man. He he discovered by all and they leave in disgust.

The Ballad Of Peter Pumpkinhead The Ballad Of Peter Pumpkinhead 1995

The video starts with Jeff Daniels walking along and, trips and falls head first into a pile of trash, getting his head jammed in a discarded Halloween pumpkin. At the same time a armed couple disguised as a bishop and a nun run into a bank to rob it. Jeff while staggering around trying to remove the pumpkin bumps into the couple as they run out. The couple make their getaway and he is mistakenly arrested for the crime although one man witnesses what really happened. He becomes a media celebrity his face plastered on magazines. He is found guilty and is sent to the gallows at this point Ellen appears as a angel. He ends up getting hung on TV, the trap door opens, the pumpkin flies off and he falls through and crawls his way to freedom through the crowd. The crowd hold the pumpkin head aloft as though some great miracle has happened ...

He Liked To Feel It He Liked To Feel It 1996

The band play on top of a New York building. The song tells of a kid who finds out different ways to yank out his teeth. Like tying it to his dogs tail, and playing fetch. The kid first ties his tooth to a taxi cab, and is dragged down the street and into an alley. Then he ties it too a dog behind a wire fence. He throws over a huge chuck of meat and the dog runs for it, jerking the kid into the fence. His Dad comes into sight and the boy runs off. He finds a crane operator, and is lifted high in the sky by his tied tooth. The string breaks and he falls to the ground. His Dad walks up to him and pulls it out with his pliers.

My Own Sunrise My Own Sunrise 1997

My Own Sunrise is full of images, fading away from the real thing the song is about. The band are dressed in nicely fitted suits with hats. It's full of swings, and ladders which the band members are on. They visit the Tundra, and everything is frosty. Brad and Ellen's face looks frozen, and Ben is pulled in a little sled.

Keep A Lid On Things Keep A Lid On Things 1999

This a very good looking video. Brad has a little version of himself in his head. Kind of being his conscience I guess. He controls the big Brad, with shifting levers. Brad's battery runs low, so the little guy puts on a jet pack and flies out of Brad's head, to get him a new battery. He runs past all of the other band members who have collapsed on the sidewalk. He slides under the door of an electronic store and gets a battery. He rolls the battery as he runs back to big Brad, lying on the ground drained of power.

Get You In The Morning Get You In The Morning 1999

This video has main focus on Ellen Reid. She is dressed in a white jump suit inside this room filled with monitors. She controls what appears on the monitors with a special remote. On the screens, the other band members are shown in a variety of TV commercials: Brad as a salesman in a cowboy hat, Dan and Mitch kung-fu fighting, Ellen in a psychic commercial, and the band doing an exercise bit, showing a Crash drink.

Besides the music videos there was one film done about the dummies. Symptomology Of A Rock Band: The Case of Crash Test Dummies is the title of it. It's story line goes about the band having certain symtoms while touring. The good thing in this film is, it has 5 music videos in it:
  • Afternoons & Coffeespoons
  • Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm
  • Swimming In Your Ocean
  • God Shuffled His Feet
  • Superman's Song
